- Task Management Integration: Uploads are fully integrated into Smint.io Portals’ task management system.
- Expandable Connector Support: Initially available for Bynder (by customer request), with additional connectors added on demand.
How to Use the Asset Upload Feature
To take advantage of this powerful upload functionality, follow these steps:
1) Set Up the Data Source
- Create an Upload Assets data source for your preferred DAM connector.
- You do not have to use the same connector for reading and uploading assets.
- Configure general settings (upload restrictions, custom forms) and connector-specific settings (e.g., metadata property IDs for Bynder).
2) Enable Write Access for the Connector
- Activate the “Request Write Access” setting in the connector.
- Sync the connector to fetch new access tokens that allow write permissions
3) Assign User Permissions
- Grant users’ permission to upload assets via the new “Upload assets” setting.
- Permissions can also be granted to anonymous users.
4) Configure the UI Component
- Create an upload form that adapts to dialog or normal pages.
- Select the upload process (automatic approval vs. manual review) and data source.
- Customize the form with relevant instructions and metadata fields.
5) Upload and Manage Digital Assets
- Users can drag & drop or select files for upload while completing the form.
- Uploaded assets are temporarily stored until approved and transferred to the target system.
- Task management allows tracking and reviewing uploads efficiently.
Seamless Review & Approval Workflow
- Uploaded assets can be reviewed before final storage.
- If immediate approval is enabled, assets move directly to the target system, with task management marking the upload as “completed.”
- If review is required, the task appears in the task manager, allowing admins to verify metadata and make corrections before finalizing the upload.
- Custom metadata is applied during the transfer process.
