Videos
Videos have always been an important part of Smint.io Portals. Users can search, find, and download them directly from the source – from your DAM or from SharePoint. And of course, they can be streamed on the asset detail page as well as when they are placed as an interactive design element on any page.
We figured, there is more we can do with videos to create an immersive digital experience.
That’s why we introduced a versatile video banner component.
Upload one or more videos, choose your ideal banner size and the darkness of the overlay and the number of seconds of interval until one video fades to the next and voilà – your cover page becomes lively and will look truly professional.
Check out this example of a medium sized video banner with two different fading videos and a medium dark overlay:

Or this one – with a large video banner using the same two videos and a dark overlay:

The fact that these videos are streamed directly from portals, now that they can be uploaded as a resource, allows you to stream them instantly with no visible loading time.
Automatic system mails
No matter which stakeholder group you are serving with your content portal – internal teams, channel partners, agencies, press or suppliers. Your users want to know what’s going on when they request access or download, register, when they want to reset their password and so forth.
That’s why all our portals come with predefined customizable mail messages which automatically carry all your chosen corporate design settings.
So that these mails come from your own domain, we have had DKIM / DNS settings in Smint.io Portals from the start. Now there is also an alternative to enter your SMTP server credentials, making it easier for companies with strict DNS / DKIM policies.
Clone portal feature
Smint.io Portals allows you to run multiple portals on one tenant. So, if you want to serve different stakeholders with different content and pages, it is easy to fire up new portals as you need them.
The clone portal feature gives you a great starting point with all the corporate design definitions and basic settings done – just clone your existing portal and make the changes you need.
Time saved, professional result. Everyone happy.
Dynamic Content Routing
Based on meta data properties of each content element in your source system – images, videos, or documents – like pricelists, press releases in different languages, or technical documents, Dynamic Content Routing allows you to automatically allocate content to user groups.
This means that your portal can look the same for every user but provide different content in different languages depending on the user group and language settings.
Additionally, user groups also offer the option to allocate users to them based on rules – for example based on the domain of the e-mail address, company association, language or geography.
Paradise for hyper personalization enthusiasts!
Display meta data and tags
Metadata and tags provide valuable information about your images, videos or documents. Data on copyright, creation date or place or keywords describing the content, etc. Many DAM systems even use AI algorithms to generate tags automatically. Metadata enables your users to find content more easily and to put it into context.
We have therefore made great efforts to give you direct access to the metadata in your source systems – the DAM, SharePoint or Box – and to give you the greatest possible freedom to display this metadata along with the asset on the asset details page.
Zoom and flick through images and documents
With the new zoom and flick feature viewing pictures, PDF documents or other documents is easy and fun on any device – on your PC, tablet or mobile. No further explanation required.
Improvements to category and chooser components
Categories are components that consist of an image, text and, optionally, a call-to-action button. They can be represented as a category carousel component or as a category chooser component.
In addition, a background image can be assigned to each menu in the system and this menu can then be displayed on one page in the form of a menu item chooser.
These components are fully responsive so that they look great on any device. You can even define how the images should react to changes in size, whether they should be clipped or scaled, and where the focus point is.
Transparent images can be underlaid with a background color.
